Dive right in

Start off with new concepts in engineering and programming to spark your mind

Introduction

Start off on the right foot. Begin work with advanced circuits, put together your first few projects with Arduino, and learn fundamental Python techniques and tools.

Skill Development

Move away from the drawing board and start applying your new knowledge to real world problems. Use your knowledge of circuits and Arduinos to build a metal-detector car or analyze data models to reveal insights in big data.

Students work on projects applying the skills and knowledge base they've gained so far on programming and engineering

During the final weeks of the program students work on developing their personal final projects through combining their programming and engineering skills

Creation

Combine your programming and engineering skills. Build projects ranging from writing an algorithm(or several) for data mining, developing your own full-fledged web application, or creating your own security system with IoT.

A summer experience done differently.

Otherwise known as a summer program that you'll actually learn from and enjoy.

We're committed to you

Everybody at Kinet-X has only one goal: to help you get the most out of your experience. When you learn at Kinet-X, you can always expect to have your lingering questions answered, discuss potential ideas and topics with your mentors, and receive meaningful feedback on improving your work.

Stay engaged

Programs can start off well, but keeping yourself excited might be a challenge. Our program starts off on a brisk pace and keeps it going until the very end, keeping you on your toes and completely immersed in programming and engineering with exciting activities and enjoyable lessons.

Make friends

Kinet-X provides students with endless opportunities to grow and learn, and one of the most important opportunities that we provide you is the ability to meet some of the brightest, talented kids in NYC. Over the course of 4 weeks, you and your peers will solve tough problem sets, laugh at jokes together, build amazing inventions, and forge friendships to last a lifetime.

At Kinet-X, you'll avoid

Ridiculously high prices

Summer coding camps like iDTech or SummerTech charge exorbitant prices for their programs (idTech charges on average $800/wk and SummerTech $1225/wk). We want to make a good STEM education accessible, which is why we only ask for a fee to help cover material + facilities costs, along with need-based scholarships.

Many students complain that too many summer camps leave them learning nothing and bored, with adults uninterested in helping them. Our mentors personally work with students and consistently keep them learning and engaged with interesting and fun activities.

Low Engagement

Camps in general charge a lot but deliver little. Unfortunately, STEM camps are no different. SummerTech teaches only one language and has no engineering; camps like iDTech only offer courses with a single topic. This forces families to have to find and pay for several courses instead of one. Here at Kinet-X, we know it's necessary to properly introduce students to the vast tech fields with a full, comprehensive foundation, so we teach both CS + engineering.

Make your time worthwhile

"Very Focused, well structured program on both electrical and software engineering. The teachers were nice and I felt that my voice was heard. the class sizes were small and the teachers were very proactive if anyone showed any hint of falling behind. One might think that a program of this caliber would cost an arm and a leg but Kinet-X is very affordable and in my opinion is worth much more than it costs."

Here are some of the most frequently asked questions we get. If you have any more inquiries, contact us here.

how much does the python/arduino immersive cost?

The tuition for our Summer 2017 Python/Arduino Immersive is $1550, and includes activities, materials, and parts for the entire 12 sessions of the program. If your family has financial difficulties, we make sure you can attend with need-based scholarships. Cost should not be a barrier preventing you from learning skills for your future.

what is a day at kinet-x like?

Whether you attend the Starter Immersive or Advanced Immersive, each day will be packed with code, circuits, fun, activities, and much more! Students will participate in lectures, contribute in discussions, engage in activities, and challenge themselves with daily projects/labs.

are there any age requirements?

We currently accept students from the ages of 10-14. If you're outside of this age range, don't worry. Send us an email about your situation and we'll talk!

when and where are classes taught?

The Python/Arduino Immersive will begin on August 7 and end on September 1, on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays for a total of 12 sessions.
